An Icon Reimagined

For many years since the Indian Independence, bright red double-storied buses with stainless steel wings plied the streets of Mumbai. Simply called Double Deckers by the locals, these buses are a big part of the collective Indian nostalgia (Jaanu, mere jaaaaan… anyone?). In August 2022, BEST Mumbai rekindled this 70-year old romance with the lumbering, red giants.

These new double deckers are red like their predecessors, but green where it matters: Fully electric, 0% emissions, and a 65-person seating capacity. We’re calling this a win for public transport.
